Most of the images in this ‘Creative Photography’ section are called light paintings. It’s a very fun process to create an exposure in this way. First, all of the ambient light is taken out of a room. Then a long exposure (up to 30 seconds or so) is taken of the composition, and while the shutter is open small flashlights are used to light certain areas of the image. 25 light paintings could be done of the same composition and they would all look quite different, which is what makes it so fun.
